megland books children's story books for labrador lovers based on meg's real life story enter site menu megland books how it all started meg was our first labrador. she was a happy-go-lucky, bouncy, tail-wagging, loyal friend. from the day she was born she was everyone’s sweetheart and through her eyes and actions we all knew what she was thinking and trying to say to us. we all said ‘the only thing meg can’t do is talk.’ after sharing meg’s life for 14 years her memory has inspired me to write a series of books about her life from puppyhood until she was an ‘old lady.’ my books have given meg a chance to speak and tell us her own special story from a dog’s eye view. they are written as interesting true stories for children, rather than a formal training guide (with a little bit of imagination thrown in) to help children understand a dog’s behaviour as they both grow up together. my series of meg stories has been written and illustrated for all age groups of children. designed for 5 to 7 year olds in early learning. but grandmas and mums have been buying them to read to smaller children who are loving the stories and looking at the illustrations. and children aged 9 to 11 are buying the books and enjoying reading them, particularly if they like dogs and especially labradors. the exquisite and colourful hand paintings and text make these a series of delightful books for younger children, with just enough fantasy and imagination to make them exciting. they can be read aloud by parents, capturing the inner hearts of adults, or cherished as books for children to read themselves. the 'life of meg' books seen through her eyes, have been written and illustrated from true captivating stories and photographs of meg's life. enjoy reading everyone and remember 'we are all children at heart' thank you for reading my website. i hope parents and children alike enjoy looking through it and find it enjoyable "we are all children at heart...." meet the author the author hello, i’m kathryn queen and i write children’s books about my labrador dog called meg. i was born and raised a dale’s girl and labradors were always a big part of our family life as i was growing up. i am now blessed to live in the beautiful lake district with my husband neville and our latest labrador dog ben. we walk the hills and lakesides as often as we can. this is when i feel truly focussed and at peace and this is where i find the ‘real me’ and the inspiration to write and illustrate my stories about meg. reliving meg’s life through the books has been a very fulfilling and quite emotional journey for me at times. as i immerse myself in writing i find i become meg and totally lose myself. this is the only way i can write with such feeling from the heart. i am also very lucky to have such an understanding, supportive husband who i have to say has gone without food on many occasions when i lose track of the time of day! i receive lovely letters from the children who read my books and this is the only real reward i seek. after all, i write for them and they are truly my best critics and fans of meg. i hope all children and parents continue to enjoy the books meg's books the books "a little gem" book one meg’s fun loving puppyhood days growing up with her four little puppy brothers. she thought this would never end....
